Thank you, Money is not Important!

When we hear about enormous financial successes like those who invested early in Facebook, it can skew your risk tolerance.  For every story like this that you hear, keep in mind that there are thousands of people that lose their shirts on similar bets.

This is an advertisement for Burger King… what do you think of the eye make-up? Does it make you hungry, or does it kind of gross you out?

Adulting: Step 154: Your car is not a trash can or a filing cabinet  →

My partner (always “on” until very recently… we’re now officially “on/off”) drives a truck in which I’ve had very similar experiences. Thank you, adulting:

An excellent point from Jeffrey L.:

My partner, I’m always on his case about cleaning and organization. Recently, he just lost his wallet. Thinking it may be in his car, I searched all over for it! I went through mounds and mounds of papers, napkins, food containers, water bottles. The whole…

This quote from the newyorker reminds me of my parents’ response to a 17-year-old me’s eloquent announcement that I’d become a vegan:
Dad: I’ll give you a vegan.
Mom: Please.
Me: I’m SERIOUS!! Why don’t you ever take me seriously? (Long rant about slaughterhouses, hormones, the fact that human beings really shouldn’t drink cow’s milk because it’s really weird to drink something that comes from another species’ mammary glands…)
Dad: That’s bull-shit. Human beings cannot live without red meat.
Mom: This veganism thing is an excuse for anorexia.
… or something like that.
